Over the years Cold Banana have supported various charities, doing fun runs and bake sales, but never have we dedicated our time to one sole charity.
We wanted to choose something local and something all of our staff could get on board with. So the vote went out to the whole team and the consensus was Wessex Cancer Trust.
Wessex Cancer Trust is a local charity supporting people living with cancer and has done so over the last 40 years. Their support is given to people when they most need it, including funding breast cancer nurses, ground-breaking research into pioneering treatments and numerous appeals for hospital wards and equipment.
A huge 23,000 people in the Wessex area alone are diagnosed with cancer every year! With an increase in the number of people using their fantastic service (which is a good thing), and a decline in charitable income they are currently in crisis. Sadly the charity has seen a drop in gifts from wills and people using their charity shops. A target has been set and we would love to be the ones that helped to keep this charity and all the invaluable work they do continue for a further 40 years!
We believe this is a worthy cause and we want to help save them!
At Cold Banana HQ we are a family and thrive when we work as a team! This is going to give us an opportunity to continue to build our great relationships, bond and give our cold banana peeps a chance to work with people who they wouldn’t normally work with.
We intend to do a number of sponsored activities - the calendar is getting full already! So watch this space and look out for our stories on social media!
